Always intrigued by exploring the rare and hidden beauty of a place that would also be an invigorating workout, I jumped at the opportunity to go on a rugged hike on the coast of Anguilla. In under 3 hours (closer to 2 hours than 3), the group I had the pleasure of hiking with was so jovial and energetic! HIKE AXA guides were also professional, helpful and just patient enough to ensure safety while ensuring we all kept a good pace. The local breakfast after was also divine (in keeping with all Anguillian culinary experiences). The hike was so amazing, I did another one in a different location the very next weekend! A required QUEST Experience for those wanting to see the unspoilt best of Anguilla!

Our hike along the limestone cliffs of Anguilla to Goat Cave was so beautiful and EXHILARATING! We are avid hikers, but we both agreed after the hike that we could’ve never done this hike without an expert guide like Jamal showing us where to take each twist and turn, where to place our feet and hands, climbing techniques, etc. Trust us, it was worth every penny to have Jamal’s expertise each step of the way to keep us safe, so that we could just soak in the experience and those breathtaking views! What an amazing adventure that included a refreshing dip in the oceanside pool inside the cave. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better guide; not only was Jamal an incredibly patient and skilled teacher in regard to the climbing aspect, but he also taught us so much about Anguilla along the way. Next time we’ll heed the Quest team’s advice to bring gloves (yes, we should’ve listened to them – haha!), as you do need to hold onto sharp rocks; our hands won’t be sore next time if we bring gloves. We can’t WAIT to book more hiking adventures with Quest on our future visits to Anguilla!

We had the best time on our Goat Cave hike with Jamal! At first, we were definitely intimidated by the idea of rock climbing along a cliff over the ocean, but it was actually easier than expected. You are climbing over and along limestone rock, so you will have great traction, but you may want to wear long pants and sleeves (not clothes you will be upset about if they get torn!) and consider gloves to protect your hands. People should be in good physical shape for this hike, as it requires some strength and flexibility, but we had a 10-year-old and a 50-year-old with us and they both did great. Definitely wear a suit to jump in the cave pool – it’s so worth it – but you will also need to jump in your shoes in order to climb back out safely – so consider this when choosing footwear. Absolutely no flip-flops! You will want both of your hands-free so a small backpack would be ideal. Otherwise, it was gorgeous, Jamal was absolutely fantastic, and it was one of the most memorable experiences I have had in Anguilla!

We spent 4 days in Anguilla and the goat cave hike was the highlight of the trip. We were a family of three with two 45 year olds and a 12 year old. The views were amazing and our guide did a great job keeping us safe and entertained. Highly recommended.

Our hike with Quest Experiences was truly one of the highlights of our trip. Our guide, Jamal, was incredibly kind, welcoming, and deeply knowledgeable about the island, sharing insights about the landscape, culture, and ecosystem that made the experience feel so much richer. We had two drivers who also shared their passions about the island and its history and beauty.
The hike itself was adventurous and exhilarating, with breathtaking coastal views and rugged trails that took us to parts of Anguilla we never would have discovered on our own. It felt like seeing the island from a completely different perspective—wild, beautiful, and untouched. It was more of a rock-climb than a hike, but worth every moment and really pushed our abilities in the best way.
What made the experience even more special was the thoughtful, eco-friendly mindset behind it all. It’s clear the team cares deeply about preserving the island while helping visitors experience its natural beauty in a meaningful way. And the homemade smoothies at the end were the perfect reward! They were refreshing, delicious, and such a thoughtful touch after an adventurous morning.
If you’re looking to go beyond the beaches and experience the adventurous side of Anguilla, this is an absolute must-do. Highly recommend for anyone who loves nature, incredible views, and a little adventure.
