My Life as an Anguilla Tour Guide

Hi there, I’m Isaac, and I get to do something truly special every day, I show people the soul of Anguilla through Quest Experiences. I am a tour guide and experience coordinator, and today I’ll be telling you about my experiences in the field.

Growing up here, I was the kid always outdoors, cutting bush tracks through my village, climbing sharp sea rocks, building kites with my cousins, picking mangoes from the tops of trees, and chasing sunsets on my bike. Back then, I didn’t realise I was building the foundation for what I do now: helping others discover the magic of this island from a local’s point of view.

Working with Quest Experiences, I’ve gotten familiarity in imparting the knowledge I’ve gained from growing up in Anguilla. What makes this job unforgettable is watching people fall in love with Anguilla right in front of me.

I especially love joining in the excitement of the kids taking in an experience absolutely foreign to them. I’ve seen wide-eyed kids floating for the first time in our salt ponds, laughing uncontrollably as the dense water holds them up. I’ve watched guests conquer the cliffside hike to Goat Cave, only to leap into a hidden natural pool, their cheers echoing against the rocks. These experiences leave a lasting impression.

These unscripted moments, the genuine conversations, shared laughter, cultural exchange, these are what make Quest so unique.

One of my favourite memories? A windy afternoon at Mead’s Bay, helping a family build their first kite from scratch. The kids were so excited, they had never flown one before. We ran down the beach, kites blazing overhead like rockets. Two hours turned into a core memory for them, and for me.

Another time, I guided a guest from Senegal. Over breakfast, we bonded over our countries’ salt industries. Later, at Shoal Bay East, a local fisherman joined our chat over rum punch, telling us about his recent catch and even offering us a ride on his boat next time. These unscripted moments, the genuine conversations, shared laughter, cultural exchange, these are what make Quest so unique.

I love Anguilla—not just for its stunning views or serene beaches, but because it shaped who I am. Anguilla was my playground, and every corner holds a memory. To me, it’s paradise, a place where time slows down, the breeze lifts your spirit, and the sea washes your worries away.

Today, as a guide with Quest Experiences, I get to share that feeling with others. Take this as an invitation to experience Anguilla like a local. Whether you’re cycling through the island’s most expansive terrains, sampling authentic cuisine from diverse cultural backgrounds, or meeting the people who make this island so unique, every detail is designed to create real moments and lasting memories. Each aspect of being a tour guide on Anguilla has aligned with me, and I’m proud to share the soul of Anguilla with every guest who comes on a Quest.

We are commited to the preservation of Anguilla's culture and providing unique experiences for all.
